Marie is currently the Executive Director of the New Jersey Association for Supervision and She is currently a member of Leadership Council, the governing body of ASCD, and co-chairs ASCD Position Development. She also serves on the Legislative Committee of ASCD contributing to the overall Legislative Agenda. She has served as President of NJASCD and as Chair of the Professional Development Committee. She is a past member of the ASCD Board of Directors. In addition, she is the recipient of several educational awards the most recent of which are Outstanding Administrator Award by the Vineland Administrators and Supervisors Association, the Ernest Boyer Outstanding Educator Award by NJASCD, and was named the 2005 Cumberland County Administrator of the Year. |

Janis Jensen is currently serving as Director of the Office of Academic Standards at the New Jersey Department of Education where she is responsible for all aspects of the implementation of state standards and related initiatives in the nine core curriculum content standards areas. Janis previously served as coordinator of world languages and international education and taught at the K-12 through postsecondary levels. While coordinator of world languages, Janis also worked with New Jersey teacher preparation institutions to become actively involved in department initiatives related to systemic reform in world language education that resulted in the development of several innovative programs at the undergraduate and graduate levels. In 2005, Janis was recognized by the General Assembly of the State of NJ in a Resolution for Contributions to World Language Education in New Jersey. Among other honors, she was also the recipient of the National State Supervisor of Foreign Languages of the Year Award in 2004. On May 22, 2008, Janis will be recognized at the Rutgers Graduate School of Education Commencement Ceremony as a Distinguished Leader in Education. 2007 publications include: The Essentials of World Languages, Grades K-12: Effective Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment for the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD) with Paul Sandrock and an article published in The Modern Language Journal, Vol. 91, No. 2: National Foreign Language Policy: A State Language Coordinator’s Perspective. |

Treasurer Judy Dill-Baarck |

Judy Dill-Baarck retired after working for twenty-three years at High Point Adolescent School, a division of CPC Behavioral Healthcare where she was the education supervisor. She previously was a special education teacher there and was responsible for establishing a computer program that currently meets the core curriculum content standards created by the state. Judy received her BA as teacher of the handicapped from Kean University and her M.Ed. from Rutgers University. Graduate studies were completed at Georgian Court College and Kean University with a certificate in supervision. Judy has held several leadership positions at the state and regional levels and has received several Service Recognition Awards from the Central Region. She also published an article “Personal Reflections on the Assessment of Students Placed in Out of District Private Schools Due to Their Emotional and/or Behavioral Disorders” in the NJASCD Focus on Education Journal. |
